Near the end of Saturday’s episode, Fred Armisen, who returned to SNL for the evening,  gave a moving introduction and introduced a clip of David Bowie performing in 1979. He said, “David Bowie transformed whatever space he was in, whatever medium he was using, and that night for me, he transformed live television.” Below is both the introduction and clip.
