DETROIT, February 1, 2023 ~ Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has signed a near $70-million dollar contract, retaining the Michigan native for Detroit through the 2030-31 season.
In what was reported to be prolonged negotiations, the 26-year-old inked his deal just two days before the NHL trade deadline, avoiding unrestricted free agency and keeping the three-time All-Star within the ranks of a team that he always dreamed of playing for.

(CONTINUED) Larkin, who hails from Waterford, played hockey at the University of Michigan, and was later drafted by the Red Wings in 2014. Over eight seasons, he has scored 169 goals and has had 246 assists.
This year, Larkin leads the team with 22 goals and 35 assists for 57 total points in 59 games.
Although his first year was the last in the Red Wings’ 25 consecutive years of post-season appearances, the team’s 2022-23 performance has them once again in the mix for a playoff berth.
