Position: Laborer / CDL-A Driver
Job Description: A Laborer / CDL-A Driver performs various tasks such as traffic control, pothole patching, roadside clean-up, operating vehicles and other construction equipment, and works with basin, tree, and pavement repair crews. They also work collaboratively to complete each day\’s work and adhere to all safety and board policies, regulations, and procedures. Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions and position requires repetitive body movement and the ability to move objects of varying weights.
Position: Engineering Technician I/II
Job Description: An Engineering Technician I/II performs a wide range of activities that relate to the development of plans for road and bridge construction, including research assignments, keeping project records, civil drafting, field surveying, and operating various reproduction equipment.
Qualifications: High school diploma, drafting and computer skills, and a minimum of three (3) years of technical experience.
Position: Civil Engineer I/II – Construction
Job Description: The Civil Engineer I/II works under the supervision of the project engineer, and acts as a project engineer-in-training, overseeing smaller and less complex road construction projects. They also participate in the pre-construction meeting, oversee the work of construction inspectors, frequently visit construction sites, authorize contractor\’s pay estimates, and maintain close liaison with traffic safety, highway maintenance, and design.
Qualifications: A Bachelor\’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university. Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver\’s license.
Position: Civil Engineer III – Design
Job Description: A Civil Engineer III is responsible for all aspects of the design function on specific projects. They search existing records for important information, directs preliminary surveys, develop cost estimates, and participate in the preparation of preliminary and final plans, specifications, and engineer\’s estimates.
Qualifications: A Bachelor\’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university, a minimum of five (5) years of experience relating to civil engineering, supervisory experience is required, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Must also possess a valid State of Michigan driver\’s license.
Position: Civil Engineer III – Materials
Job Description: The Civil Engineer III supervises geotechnical exploration and testing activities associated with existing soil conditions on construction projects. They also visit construction sites, develop, propose, and review RCOC standards for materials, represent the RCOC at public meetings, and supervise all work activities of support staff.
Qualifications: A Bachelor\’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university, a minimum of five (5) years of experience relating to civil engineering, supervisory experience is required, and have the ability to use various job-related information processing systems. Must also possess a valid State of Michigan driver\’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Troxler testing equipment NRC certification.
The operator may be also be required to perform general warehouse cleaning, hand loader job tasks, checker duties and/or other tasks appropriate to allow the warehouse to function effectively.
Typically the work environment is hectic with co-workers working close by and numerous products being asked to be placed on a conveyor belt or pallet.
