96.3 WDVD’s “Blaine Fowler Morning Show” recently visited Mackinac Island as guests of The Star Line Mackinac Ferry company. Their fun-filled trip to the “Jewel of The Great Lakes” took them back in time to a place where natural beauty and rich history can be found at every turn.

Blaine, Lauren, and Matt started their visit on the exciting Star Line Hydro-Jet ferry, the fastest and most exhilarating way to make it to the island.  While there, they fit in as much fun as they could, including a horse drawn carriage ride, a visit to the Grand Hotel, and some irresistible Mackinac Island fudge!

Check out the segments below to hear more about their visit, plus get some great tips for planning your escape to this treasured national landmark!

Jerry Fetty from Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry company! Providing the only Hydro-Jet ferry service to Mackinac Island since 1878.

New this year, we are doing priority boarding … essentially skip the line. You can upgrade them to priority boarding and get in the front of the line to be the first one to get on the boat. A portion of it (two dollars of that priority boarding fee) goes to St. Joseph’s Research at the children’s hospital,” said Jerry.

David Jurcak, president of operations for Grand Hotel, shares all the amazing family fun weekends happening at Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

The pool was renovated last year, Ester Williams Swimming Pool was celebrating it’s 100 year opening … It is basically the same pool that Ester Williams swam in. We added an adult pool, which is up the hill a little bit with cabanas, which is just for adults and a hot tub up there as well. Right now, if you are on Mackinac Island, it is 83 in the main pool, 93 in the adult pool, and 103 in the hot tub.” said David Jurcak.

Danny Ranville from Biere De Mac joins “The Blaine Fowler Morning Show!”

Danny Ranville said, “Biere De Mac is in Mackinac City and we have quite a few customers over there on Mackinac Island so you can find our beer over there, in four locations. New this year we cleared around an acre behind our brewery and we are bringing in a lot of live music. We will have live music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Basically we just try to do a broad spectrum of music, we’ve got brass bands, string bands, blue grass bands, we have a little of everything.”

It is kid friendly and dog friendly which I love!” says Lauren.
