Celine Dion gave a powerful and emotional performance of “The Show Must Go On” at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
“The Show Must Go On” was recorded in 1990 by Queen as Freddie Mercury became increasingly debilitated from AIDS. Dion started covering the song back in 2008 as a tribute to the late front man, but the track would go on to take new meaning for her as husband Rene Angelil battled cancer. Throughout his troubles, the music manager would continually insist to his superstar wife that “the show must go on.
