Adam Aron just became the head of the AMC theater chain a few months ago, and he’s already considering a move that’ll make him a hero to some, and THE DEVIL to others. We are talking about movie theaters where TEXTING IS ALLOWED. Aron says, quote, “When you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don’t ruin the movie, they hear please cut off your left arm above the elbow. You can’t tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That’s not how they live their life.” Obviously Aron recognizes that plenty of people will HATE this idea. People would have the option of seeing their movie in a text-friendly or no-texting theater. Am I the only one that thinks this is a terrible idea? Can people not disconnect for 2 hours?
