Campus Martius is all dressed up and ready for its close up. The biggest new year’s eve party around the metro area will be downtown tonight at Campus Martius and Cadillac Square. It starts at 4 p.m. and runs through 1 a.m. Organizers of the Motor City New Year’s Eve say the event will feature the dropping of an eight foot glowing sphere in the shape of the Letter D in Cadillac square.
For those with young children, it will be dropped at 6:30 and then again for the adults at midnight. This is the 6th year for the program and it has grown ever year. More than 30,000 people are expected for tonight’s festivities.
